A Day in the Park

Both shows are up and running. Social events are piling up to fill every free afternoon and post-show minute.

Yesterday was the "intern lunch," a potluck in the park in honor of--you guessed it--the interns. I made a pesto pasta salad and guacamole (not together--ew). After the food had been consumed, many people peeled off, but a group of us stayed for hours, playing bocce ball and frisbee to our heart's content. Kevin Harris, an actor in the company, brought his wife Khara and their two small children along. Ella (2 1/2) and Dominic (15 months) set the mood for the day with their carefree playfulness.

Ella became quite taken with a mud puddle, in which she splashed her feet for quite a while, and then, immediately upon being given permission to remove her cotton sundress, she marched over to it, stood with her legs apart, and dipped her butt right in! This elicited uproarious laughter, stalling the bocce ball game for a good five minutes until we had regained control of ourselves.

Tonight is a Tempest performance, then to Devotay afterwards for drinks and tapas with the regional Equity rep, who is visiting.
